Hi guys!
Its been a cold and rainy day in NY. Loren is feeling under the weather, so we’ve just been lying low, and I’ve been feeling kind of down all day. I think it’s the mix of crappy weather, too much time spent inside, lots of stuff on my to-do list, and the 3 large glasses of red wine I had last night. I don’t feel hung over or anything, but drinking a lot always makes me feel a little depressed the next day… very fun to let loose and throw them back, not so fun the day after!
I woke up and had the BEST breakfast sandwich this morning… sort of a healthy take on the usual greasy breakfast sandwich. Still looks “bad for you” but I swear, it wasn’t!

This was as easy to make as it was delicious! I just toasted 2 pieces of quinoa bread, one with a slice of cheddar cheese so it would melt. I made a sunny side up egg and heated a morningstar sausage patty in the microwave. Then, I just put it all together!

This was the first time I’ve heated the “sausage” patties in the microwave and I definitely learned my lesson about sticking to the pan. They were much too chewy when microwaved!

I was curious about the protein count in this sammie because each of the ingredients, including the bread had protein. I calculated it and it came out to an astounding 28 grams. That’s a lot! Too much for one meal? I’m not sure. It held me over for a looong time, though.
We went to the Farmer’s Market and ran errands all morning, and I came home to a package!

I ordered a variety pack of Angela’s bars from her newly opened online Glo Bakery! Ive been reading Angela’s blog for a while, and this is such a milestone for her. I was really happy to support her in some small way- and to try her delicious looking healthy treats!
All of her bars are vegan, 100% organic, dairy free, and refined sugar free. And she sent them in the nicest package!

She even sent a really sweet note thanking me for my support.

The variety box I ordered came with all these yummy flavors:
- Classic (Chunky Peanut Butter)
- Revive (Dark Chocolate Chunky Peanut Butter)
- Renew (Post-workout, high protein hemp)
- Endure (Cranberry Apricot Spelt)
- Run (Pre-workout w/ energizing raw maca)
I was really excited to try one, so I decided to turn lunch into a weird two-part meal. I had the Revive- dark chocolate and PB bar. It was delicious, obviously!

All natural, good stuff.

I was REALLY impressed with this bar. It was chocolatey, but not too sweet, and the PB flavors weren’t overwhelming at all. It had the perfect balance of chewin-ness and crunchin-ness to it. I guess it’s the brown rice syrup that makes it nice and chewy. I can’t wait to try more!
Since this was a little too light for lunch, I had a half of a tomato from the fresh market topped with black pepper, feta, and balsamic vinegar.

A weird lunch, but I really enjoyed it! The bar kept me fueled and full to work and then workout this afternoon (I did 35 minutes on the bike, 15 minutes of weights).
I also took a few pictures of our farmer’s market purchases because they were too pretty to not be photographed!

Alright guys, I’m off to relax on the couch. I will be posting all about tonight’s (slight) dinner (fiasco) tomorrow morning with breakfast. Have a great night!
I’m so thrilled that you enjoyed your first bar so much!! Aww this just made my night. Thank you so much for your support!
Ange
Angela,
I’m happy to support such an awesome product! Your bars are really good- and homemade. What could be better?!
I love Angela’s bars – in fact, I need to put in another order right away!
