Anna and I just had the BEST Thai food ever at Joya in Brooklyn. Seriously. If you live in Brooklyn (or even Manhattan) and are reading this right now, put down your computer and go. It is that good. Even more, the prices are awesome. The spicy noodle dish with shrimp that we shared was $7.50; the panang chicken curry with veggies was $7.95. And the place has a really classy vibe.
Lets track back… After, a good workout at the Y (25 minutes on the bike, 15 minutes on incline walking on the tread), I was hugry and snacked on a Kids Cliff Bar (sorry- no picture). We showered and made a cocktail with this Sweet Tea vodka that a friend brought us as a housewarming gift.
This stuff is amazing. We mixed with water or seltzer and ice (about 1/3 vodka, 2/3 water). Really strong with a nice sweet taste.
I was happy!
I drank about half my glass. My stomach was hurting and I was hungry! We then walked to Joya, which is always very crowded. We were told it would be 45 minutes wait but it was only 20! I love when that happens. We each had a glass of Rose at the bar.
Our table had a nice view of the restaurant’s open kitchen.
And decided to split everything once we got seated. We started with a spicy squid salad. It was really SPICY! We needed lots of water breaks.
We split the curry and noodle dishes. They were both AMAZING.
My plate- it was a small plate, which was great for portioning! I had a good amount of both, but no rice. We took our leftovers to go.
We took a stroll around the neighborhood and got some ice cream at Sweet Melissa’s. I had a small scoop of Raspberry Truffle.
Now we are home in our PJ’s, very full, watching stupid TV and relaxing.
See you guys tomorrow!
