Good evening all!
This afternoon I had a great workout at the gym, doing the circuit training that the trainer at the Y showed me. It involves jumping jacks, weight lifting, planks, bridges, and squats. Sometime soon I would like to take pictures of the series and put them up here for anyone who is interested.
I had a granola bar when I got back around 5:30.
Around 6:30, we went into Manhattan to get pizza with Anna’s parents, who I love and haven’t seen in a while. They took us to John’s Pizzeria in the West Village. Some people think this is the best in NYC, so I was excited to give it a try. We ordered two pies (there were six of us)- one with cheese and pepperoni, one with cheese, olives, and mushrooms. I had one slice of both.
This pizza was good- very good. Is it the best I’ve had in New York? I wouldn’t say so. There are a few places I would put on top- like Grimaldi’s, under the Brooklyn Bridge. Still, this pizza was delicious. I especially loved their crust; it was thin but doughy- just the way I like it. The one criticism I have is that the pizza was a tad greasy for me. I found myself blotting both slices like crazy to get the oil off the top.
I love pizza- it is definitely my favorite food, and I eat it pretty regularly. I just use self control when I do!
After dinner, the group wanted to stop for gelato.
I decided on sorbet- berry and passion fruit, but only had half. The berry flavor was really over-sweetened. I hate it when the natural flavor of fruit is masked by way too much sugar.
We took a nice stroll through the West Village and found a row of benches in a little square to sit in and chat. I took some pictures of kids chasing each other around the fountain. Can you spot them?
Alright, I’m off to veg out for a bit and catch up on Weeds!
I feel very blessed to finally have the time to create this blog- a project that really feels like my own. I had been hoping to do this for a while, and it means so much to me to have you all reading and visiting. Please don’t hesitate to leave any suggestions or questions you have for me. I want to make this blog fun and interesting for YOU as well as 100% ME.
See you all tomorrow!
