I’m pooped! Its been a long day of traveling and walking the city of Philadelphia. Its very nice here- not nearly as hot as New York!
This morning, in the rush to get to the train, I had a whole wheat pita with almond butter and apricot jam.
When I got on the train, I saw people sitting in the cafe car. It looked a lot more spacious than the seats in coach, so I decided to sit down and hooked up my computer. It was a great set up.
I had an apple on the way- with lots of water!
I also had a string cheese- but was so hungry I forgot to take a picture!
Once I got to the hotel, I met a nice group of people attending the same orientation. We were all starving so we put our stuff in our rooms and walked to get lunch at the Redding Market– a huge covered market with all kinds of food. I decided on vegetarian Indian- chickpeas in tomato sauce, yellow dahl (lentils), saag paneer (spinach + paneer), and a little scoop of white rice.
It was delicious! I ate all the rice and lentils and half of the spinach and chickpeas.
I had the afternoon off, so a group of us took a walk around the city, to beautiful Rittenhouse Square. We are now eating a very early dinner- 5:30!
I will be back with a recap later!
UPDATE: Just got back from dinner… I brought my camera but forgot my memory card in my room! 😦 Bummer. It was an impressively healthy spread, though, with salad, grilled chicken, and whole wheat roles. Sorry I don’t have pics for you all. I must remember the memory card tomorrow!
