Hello again! Let’s talk about some good eats….
For dessert/ snack today, I had 2 of these “healthy” thin mint cookies…
And around 3:30, I had a bag of baby carrots and mini bell peppers. I got these peppers from TJ’s and they were so much more flavorful than their larger cousins- maybe because they are tiny and have more concentrated flavor? Who knows…
After work, I went grocery shopping at Sahadi’s, the most magical place on Earth (a Middle Eastern grocery store in Brooklyn). I was famished by the time I got home and had a small piece of the mos incredible olive bread ever. I bough it at Sahadi’s, but it is made baked at a place called Tribeca Oven. Honestly, olive bread is my favorite, and I can’t remember having a better loaf… ever. I will definitely be back for more!
For dinner, I made a delicious (if I may say so myself) salad with all of my favorite ingredients: chickpeas, cucumbers, tomato, kalamata olives (also from my trip to Sahadi’s), eggplant cooked in a little bit of olive oil with salt and pepper, golden raisins, chopped white onion, goat’s milk feta, a pepporcini, and sunflower seeds. Dressed with balsamic and a little olive oil. With another small slice of bread:
I am a true salad lover so this really is my idea of a perfect dinner.
I love olives and feta!
Loren and Buzz were having a little dispute throughout dinner over who rules the table (and the house). I think Buzz won this one, per usual.
Alright guys, I’m off. Application time!
I’m interested in hearing from more from you on one of my favorite food topics—
What are your favorite salad combinations?
