Good morning, guys!
So, today is my 5 year anniversary with Loren. How crazy is that?! That’s about a fifth of my life!
I don’t want to get overly personal here (this is a health/ food blog) but what I will say is this: I think it is very important to find a sense of happiness and confidence within yourself in order to maintain any kind of real health. And you must do some of this soul searching on your own. But, sometimes, I think it takes having someone else in your life who sees you from much different eyes to help you see all of the great things you possess. Loren has supported me through the very rough last few years of figuring out my life, even when I was a totally miserable person to be around. And he has been encouraging of everything I want to do, including this blog, even though I can sometimes act a bit like Julie from “Julie and Julia” (if you saw the movie you know what I mean. if not, think self-centered bitch).
The last 5 years have been filled with happiness, joy, and most importantly, lots of fun, and I hope for many more to come!
Alright now, lets move beyond the sap and onto breakfast. I made a smoothie this morning with a banana, some frozen pomegranate seeds, ice, and almond milk.
When I was ready to blend, I remembered this in my fridge!
Yay! A use for my spinach. I refuse to let it sit ignored and go bad when it can turn into this:
With my smoothie, I had a waffle with PB & apricot jam.
For any of you who haven’t tried it, spinach makes a great addition to any fruit smoothie. If you are afraid of tasting too much “vegetable”, don’t be- you can’t even taste it! It just adds a beautiful green color and smooth texture.
Alright guys, I’m off to work. Today is a short day, so I am hoping to fit in some law school work and exercise this afternoon. Tonight, Loren planned a surprise dinner somewhere- not sure yet! But he said I should where I dress (hence yesterday’s purchase), so I think it will be a faaaancy place with gooood food!
