This morning I went to the gym for a quick workout. I didn’t have much time, but I hate getting on a plane without having moved all day. I did 25 minutes on the bike, trying to keep my speed up, and a 5 minute cool down walk. Plus some stretching.
I am now making a delicious classic Kat breakfast of 1 Morningstar “sausage” patty and 1 sunny side up egg on 2 pieces of whole wheat. I hope it will look just as pretty as the last one….
Yes, that is an old picture, but I promise, it will look exactly the same, hot sauce and all! Morningstar patties are really the best. I ate them all the time when I was a vegetarian, and I still prefer them to real sausage sometimes.
I am sipping my two essential morning beverages, black tea with almond milk and Emergen-C!
OK, guys, now onto more important matters. I wanted to bring your attention to an awesome movie that is coming to a theater near (many of) you in the next few weeks, White on Rice.
One of my favorite bloggers, Lynn, of The Actors Diet, a blog about how two Hollywood actresses eat, stars in the movie. She is a very talented actress and a wonderful role model for young actresses to show them that they can be lean and fit, but also healthy. The movie looks adorable and funny…. Here is the synopsis:
Jimmy (Hiroshi Watanabe, “Letters From Iwo Jima”) loves dinosaurs and sleeps on the top bunk. Unfortunately, Jimmy is 40 and shares that bunk with Bob (Justin Kwong), his 10-year-old nephew. Freshly divorced, Jimmy lives with his sister Aiko (Japanese Academy Award winner Nae) and her family while boldly searching for a new wife. His brother in-law, Tak (Mio Takada, “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”) thinks he’s a disaster. And although Jimmy may lack social grace, he is convinced the best years of his life are just beginning. His plan seems like it’s all falling into place when Tak’s beautiful niece Ramona (Lynn Chen, “Saving Face”) moves in. But once Jimmy sets his sights on stealing her from his best friend Tim (James Kyson Lee, “Heroes”), he sees his intentions go hilariously awry.
Lynn wrote a post about White on Rice and where it will be playing in the next couple of weeks. I wanted to share this with all of you guys- I wish it was playing in New York! (But, alas, NYC might not be the center of the universe after all….) If you are in any of these cities, head to the theater and check it out!
Starting this weekend my movie “White on Rice” opens in limited release – it’s a comedy I acted in over two summers ago, had an amazing time making, and I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. The official site with trailer and complete info is at: www.whiteonricethemovie.com.
Getting an indie film into movie theaters these days is no easy feat and our success depends largely on our friends, families, and community being involved during opening weekend. If you or people you know live in one of the areas where “White on Rice” will play (see below), please support us by purchasing a ticket and encouraging others to as well!
If you’ve already seen the movie at a film fest or sneak preview (thank you!) I’d appreciate it if you would actively spread the word – every ticket helps our chances of expanding across the country. We don’t have a big budget for marketing so we rely heavily on word-of-mouth – chat us up at parties, email your friends, twitter, facebook, message boards, etc….
Here are the theaters we’re starting out in – for each one, we are booked for about one week, and will hopefully extend our stay if we do well at the box office.
