Good evening, guys!
The day got a lot better after my crappy morning- I actually got a lot accomplished! I just focused on what I needed to do, and I felt better as the day went on because I was being so productive. I took a break for lunch. I was supposed to go to a work lunch, but that got canceled last minute. So I just went down the street and picked up a salad and Pop Chips.
I tried Cheddar Cheese Pop Chips. These were fine, but, in my opinion, they don’t hold a candle to BBQ!
I also had a Greek Salad with a scoop of tuna salad. It came with waaaay too much feta cheese!
Kind of crazy how much they put on, right? I took it all off except for 3 cubes, which I sprinkled on the salad. It was more than enough!
I actually threw out the cheese right after taking this picture. If I keep it out and around, I am too tempted to munch on it- I know myself!
I then poured just a little bit of Italian dressing on, closed the lid, and shook everything together- the best way to mix salad up!
This was really big, but I ate most of it. I didn’t eat all of the lettuce. It was pretty good for a deli salad. I really loved the spicy pepperoncinis. They added a great kick!
I drank a glass of Emergen-C with lunch. Because I work in an Adult Ed office, where students come from all over NYC and work in close quarters with us, I am trying to drink these 2-3 times a day.
On the way home, I did what every nutritionist/ psychologist tells you not to do: I treated myself with food. I’ve had a long and stressful week and was feeling pooped. All I wanted was a yummy, big ginger cookie from this coffee shop in my ‘hood that makes the best ones. And then I thought of Tina’s “Cookie Friday”, and said to myself, “Now you have to get one!”
So that’s what I did! These are the perfect cookies- not too sweet but very flavorful, thick, and nice and soft in the middle.
I plopped myself down on the couch and just vegged out for a couple of hours until Loren came home. He was in the mood for Japanese, so we ordered in. I got a big salad with broccoli, lettuce, avocado, and some pieces of (fake) crab. Weird combo, but hey- anything with Ginger Dressing is amazing. Right?
I also ordered a roll with spicy tuna, yellowtail, and avocado. It came with tempura flakes on top and I brushed most of those to the side.
It was yummers! And the perfect portion for me. Close up:
Now I’m off to read girlie magazines and maybe even take a bath. It’s a night of relaxation for me, before I need to get back to work tomorrow.
What are you all up to this weekend? Any fun plans? Hope it starts with a great Friday night!
