Good afternoon, all!
I woke up at 8:30 to hit the gym because Loren and I had brunch plans with 2 of our friends and I knew I wouldn’t have time later in the day to hit the gym. I did a really intense 40 minutes on the elliptical. My motivation for pushing myself hard? Thinking about sweating out all of the wine I drank last night! I woke up feeling kind of head-achy and out of it, but after my sweat session, I felt so refreshed. When I got home, I chugged lots of water, had a giant peach from the Farmer’s Market, and a glass of Emergen-C.
Then we headed into the city and went to my favorite brunch place EVER- Cafe Orlin. It’s a Middle Eastern cafe with an American twist, so all of the items on their menu are right up my alley!
They are also very reasonable priced…
Loren’s Eggs Benedict came with tea and a small glass of OJ and he didn’t want either, so I happily took them!
I ordered a feta and spinach omelet and asked for tomatoes in it as well. It came with whole wheat toast, home fries, and a small salad.
It was so pretty! Love the olives on top.
The omelet was delicious and fluffy, and the feta, tomato, and spinach all mixed together so nicely. I love how salty and creamy feta is- especially when warm.
The tomatoes were wonderful; they tasted like they had been slow roasted before put into the omelet.
I ate everything on my plate except for the potatoes- gave those to Loren. I’m not a big white potato gal (but I love sweet potatoes), so I would rather not waste calories on them. I prefer to have my toast!
I left brunch feeling really satisfied but not overly full at all. And it was great to see our friends and catch up :).
Now back to work- see you guys later for a creative, homemade dinner. Enjoy your Sunday!
Hands down…..brunch is the greatest invention. When did that word come into use? What country? Very clever!! Have a great day.
Mmm looking forward to seeing whats for dinner 🙂
