It is late but I’m in the mood for some bloggin…
Thanks for all of your great comments/ feedback on the “Evolution” video I posted today. I’m going to try to consciously remember the video every time I see a model in an ad and feel bad about the blemishes on my face or the extra fat around my waistline. What’s the point of comparing myself to something that doesn’t even exist?
This afternoon, I had a small but filling lunch of tuna salad, whole wheat crackers, and a few jalapeno stuffed olives. It was a great, light lunch!
The tuna salad was a mix of mayo, mustard, a tbspn of sweet relish, a big squeeze of lemon, and some black pepper.
Looove these olives- they are organic!
I worked on law school apps this afternoon and got a lot done. Tux kept me company- he looked so cute sleeping next to me, cuddled with a little stuffed Yak that I bought in India. I had to take a picture (or 5- a bit obsessed with my cats). I’ll just share one with you guys!
Isn’t he a cutie?
We did a lot of cleaning today and got some major errands done, including a trip to TJ’s for cereal/ breads/ basic groceries. I’m hoping to go to a Farmer’s Market tomorrow for fruits and veggies.
I snacked on half a TJ’s blueberry/ cranberry muffin when we got home.
These babies are really great in terms of nutrition stats and taste- not too sweet at all. And they are dairy and butter free, so Loren could dig in too!
This evening, we went over to our friend Peter’s house for a “beer potluck”; the idea was that Peter would make all of the food and we would bring different beers to enjoy along with. Peter is an AMAZING cook- one of those people who makes everything from scratch, so I was excited to see what was in store for us. It was AWESOME!
He served slow roasted pulled pork (in his homemade BBQ sauce) on sourdough bread that he MADE and a “coldelaw” that was mayo free- very light- just veggies, salt, pepper, and olive oil. The table was beautifully set.
It was sooo good. The pork was moist and flavorful- Peter’s BBQ sauce was to-die-for. I had another piece of bread with pork after this one. Loren literally ate about 8 pieces of bread with pork. He loved it! I made the executive decision that I really need to invest in a slow cooker, especially before winter comes. You can make the best meat dishes, beans, and stews. Must get one!
I also drank 2 beers throughout the night- and lots of water! Dessert was a chocolate cake. I had a small piece, but was talking to some new friends while eating it, so I felt a bit strange taking a picture… you understand…
It was a great night. I love potlucks- such a great way to meet new people and catch up with old friends- especially when they are such talented cooks (and bakers)!
