Last night, we went to a casual Sushi place in the hood called Shinjuku. It was a very relaxed little spot, but a nice place to just catch up with my parents. When we sat down, I realized I’d forgotten my camera at home! So, I just used my trusty phone to take pictures… not the greatest, but they will do.
We had some edamame to start off with to share.
And we each got a glass of house wine- I had the Pinot Grigio. It was light and fruity, perfect for sushi. I also had a small green salad. It was good, but way too overly-doused in Ginger Dressing.
For my meal, I over-ordered just a bit. I ordered:
- Mission 1 Roll shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado wrapped in white seaweed
- 1 piece of Tamago (egg on rice)
- And a Spicy Tuna Roll
It was very pretty! Even on the camera phone…
I ate all of the Mission 1 roll, the Tamago, and 1 piece of Spicy Tuna. Gave the rest to Loren. I was very satisfied with what I had eaten. I don’t normally eat a lot of fried food, but I loooove shrimp tempura!
This morning, I woke up after sleeping way too late (whoops!) and had a bowl of cottage cheese with 1/2 a banana and 1/2 a TJ’s muffin crumbled in. I also put a little bit of Pumpkin Butter in the mix!
This was my first time EVER trying pumpkin butter and I loved that it had a spicy, cinnamony kick. Awesome!
This was a delicious, filling combo.
I hope to get a lot accomplished today on my day “off”, including writing emails, essays, and getting to the gym. Hope you are relaxing for me somewhere out there!
